now we use the the active users MOD that lets you see were the users are looking and what page there looking at
now the thing is in our private forum if we are editing a post and someone who does not have access to that forum they can read the edited post while its being edited so i need to know is there some way of stopping this without deleteing the active users MOD ?
If it's password protected, and they have the password, they can get into the forum. You should use Allowed Members List instead.
Perhaps someone has given his/her password to someone else and that person has been visiting that one forum for a long time now. You never knew about it until you got the Active Users MOD installed.
Well one thing is for sure. The bug exists, since I've managed to replicate it. It also happens with forums with access controlled by a member access list.
I'm going to try to find out if it exists without active users.
I've confirmed this is not an active users mod problem. Active users compounds the problem, since it provides a direct link to edit the topic. The problem must lie in post.asp.
ok guys i will find out what others mods are installed on my forum but the guy that built it for me is in CANADA from 3 months so i will try and contact him and find out what other mods are installed as i dont know much about these UNLESS there is some other way in ADMIN to find out what mods are installed ?
any way the bug is there and is real so what do you guys reccommend ?
I've just applied the fix in my test 3.3.05 and it doesn't fix it. Also this is supposed to be fixed in 4.0Beta3patch01 and the problem persists in my 4.0Beta3patch04 (I've checked and the code for the fix is there).
i am at a lost then what to do guys i am a lonley forum admin lol on a cheap web site and you guys make these fourms from scratch and if you's cant fix it then i have no chance lol
