Has anyone done that? I run a gaming guild site for Asheron's Call. (www.HousePaladin.org) We are using Snitz 3.3.05, (some mods), and we have a deicated IRC room that we also use, #POA. But I was wondering if it's possible to some how link to the IRC room from the page. Can you do that in ASP?

Or is it a really bad idea? (I am a n00b when it comes to website setup, IRC, ASP well pretty much everything to do with webstuff.)

You can do a JavaScript and insert it in your forum.

I had mIRC running for a while and it seemed to work easily enough. It was a cinch to add the includes at the top and bottom of the page and insert some forum parameters like usernames.

If you want to had an IRC, you may use CGI::IRC under Linux System for Web access without Java (and across Firewall).

You can create a bot and uste services like http://www.langochat.net/ (in French).
