I have already installed "Avatar Mod v2" and it is working quite well. However, this mod is not "user friendly" as the users will have to know the exact name (and path) to the avatar on my server. On the page I linked to above, there is a very nice selection box with the names of the avatars, including a preview of the avatar.
This means that the user should just scroll between the available avatars to select one.

I still believe it is part of the Avatar Mod found at the link I gave you.
