I get this message when I try to find out what version I'm running on my site on the Main Forum Configuration-page: Version info: [Couldn't read version info..]
Have I done something wrong in the setup? How do I find the version number?
it will have quite a few database changes as several new features have been added. But I upgraded my forums in less than 10 minutes (I had some major server caching problems, otherwise I'd have been done in 10 minutes).
Gremlin: Sorry, I didn't see the addition to your reply.
FrutZle: The reason for my concern is that when I did the last upgrade about a year ago I lost all topics (about 10.000 ) and didn't have enough money to pay for a backup . Now I do have enough cash to pay for a backup if anything goes wrong but the visitors on my site would kill me
And he is using a MySQL database, because the missing version only happens with a MySQL database. Because of a bug in the installation of the database, the strversion wasn't set. Running the setup.asp and doing an upgrade, select the highest version to upgrade from, it will fix that problem. Sure you will get some errors saying the fields exist but it won't do anything to your database except update the strversion.
