well I have searched everywhere, here, Crash, Huw, TMpj's.....no luck...is there an add on out there for the sr1 classifieds mod that will allow you to edit the ads once their up? User edits, or admin edit, either one would be fine. I am running 3.3.05 with a few mods, no portal, is there any stand alone classifieds mods for this or do I have to go to Crash's 3.3.15 or something similar to get the edit feature(nice code Crash, but my users will freak out over the portal and radical scenery change)? Thanks ahead of time for any help.

if you drop me an email, I will zip up my classifieds files for you, it should be ok just to replace the originals with the ones I send.

Barring that, you can do what I've been doing ... editing them remotely through an ASP Table Editor. You can download a free one at Table Editor
Once you figure it out, it works very well. I had a heck of a time until I found it needed to have its dbs file in the same folder as the Snitz database ... at least that's how I got it to work ...
Very useful, for all table work, including compacting!

I'm very much interested also, could you post a link to your zip file ?
Thank you, |

Digger tried them, and they are not compatable with a standard installation.

Does that mean there is no way to get the add on working on a standard installation ? |

Since ther is no actual add on, and my code is not compatable, then I'm afraid you will have to write your own

I believe Digger has succesfully edited my files so that they will work with a standard Snitz, so maybe he would be willing to share them, or send them back to me and I will post them up.

Digger, Can you send me a copy of the edited version of the classifieds mod??? Initially I added the mod to my 3.3.03 but since it can't be edited by the member, I decided not to use it. If you've got it working I could sure use a copy!

I was just in contact with Digger and there does not appear to be an updated version of the Classified Ads Mod that allows forum members to edit their ad once posted. Not a big deal but without this change I could potentially be burdeoned with making dozens of changes to members posting.
Anyway, can one of you smart programming types develop an update for this? It would really be great for the whole community of Snitz users!! |
