Is there a way to limit PM storage to a certain number of messages? It hasn't really been a problem (yet!), but with a growing number of PMs at my site, I can see a lot of garbage hanging out there.

It would be pretty easy to purge stuff that's more than n days old, but I'm more interested in limiting the number of PMs a member can keep. I realize this is not a true "size" metric, but it seems fairly do-able. Would be a nice admin option for the PM mod.

there is a PM admin mod which allows the admin to delete messages older than a specific date, but there is no limiter that I am aware of

It could probably be incorporated into the PM MOD to COUNT the number of records by member id and then either allow or disallow a new PM prior to adding the record.

IkonBoard has a nice little feature that shows a meter of how much space you have left for private messaging, almost like what YahooMail does. This would be a pretty cool feature...

Yeah, I've seen that. It uses the number of PMs (not the "size"). Anyone know what happens when you're inbox fills up? What do you think should happen?

I would imagine one way could be a response back to the originator of the message saying that the recipients box is full (that's the way yahoo does it) or what would be even nicer is to be able to look at a list of the members (address book-like) and see what capacity levels they are at.
