I am using the Email Validation Mod, and it works great, for the most part. Recently, I have discovered that most AOL users are not getting a clickable link in the validation/activation email that is sent when they finish the signup form. The text string of the link is there, but it does not have an active link.

Soooo -- they stay stuck in my Members Pending file until I can get around to activating them --- but, the whole idea of the security of this MOD is to be sure they can't activate without a valid email, which is defeated if I just go in and validate anyone with an AOL address.

In looking at the documentation on the AOL developers pages, it seems that some of the older versions of AOL do not support HTML email:

AOL 7.0: HTML, Rich Text, Plain Text
AOL 6.0: HTML, Rich Text, Plain Text
AOL 5.0: Rich Text, Plain Text
AOL 4.0: Plain Text Only

Is there a fix for this somewhere? It is a shame to have to do this --- I hate AOL, but they are the 800-pound gorilla of the internet, and my members are not very web-savvy.

Thanks-

Maybe you could modify the email sent and tell AOL users to copy and paste the url. Not sure how else they are going to get a clickable link without html.
