What I want to do is this:
Create a new user field in the Profile area that WILL SHOW UP WHEN THE MEMBER POSTS ... ala an Avatar, stars, or the members name, # of posts, etc.
In the MODS W/O code area, I was helped by a couple of folks to edit my topic.asp so that a newly created field will show up in posts. Now, I just have to create the field.
To that end, I downloaded HuwR's User Field MOD. I am running Snitz v3.3.05.
I've got the tables created, MOD Commander operating, all files edited correctly ... no errors, anyway, and all I need to do is actually create the new field.
Here's what happens:
I go into the MOD Commander and go to User Fields. I click "NEW". It says are you sure? I click "Yes". A new field appears. I click on Edit. A Pop-up comes up. I enter the three lines:
quote: Number of Gatherings Attended Simple GATHERINGS_ATTENDED
I click save. Everything refreshes, but the inputted values don't appear. If I go into my Profile, there IS a new field. It says merely "NewLabel," rather than the desired "Number of Gatherings Attended." Of course, entering data in the field doesn't show up in a post because the value doesn't match [GATHERINGS_ATTENDED]. Why won't my values set?
Is anyone familiar with this MOD & what might be wrong?

Never mind ... it was a simple matter of the field, GATHERINGS_ATTENDED, being too long. Changed it to USER_7 and it's fine!

Other than getting the new field to show up in a post - which is not part of this MOD's functionality [and if anybody can help me get it to do so, please let me know!!!], the MOD is functioning fine ...
Just one thing, and I'm not sure if this is the way it's supposed to be or not:
A new registrant sees the new field name, but there's no place to enter the info. Someone who is already a member can see both and be able to enter the appropriate info. So, a person needs to register then come back to enter info. in that field.
Anyone know if this is correct, or if I made a copy & paste error?
