I have seen many messages on the Snitz site regarding chat functionality. There are mentions of Snitzy Chat, Pipey Chat, DigiChat and more. I have also see many posts regarding security, difficulty of implementation and integration with the Snitz membership database.
Can I get your feedback/thoughts/ideas for the best chat software to consider, while addressing security, difficulty of implementation, bandwidth and integration with the Snitz membership database?
I need a chat that is only available to site members and has the ability to support multiple rooms. Your thoughts?

Check out the Shout Box at www.xigla.com
It's a super easy and compact chatting application and members can browse your boards AND chat at the same time.
Whoops, I read that too quickly. Shoutbox does not have multiple rooms.

CoolCafe is also very easy to integrate into the forums.

You have to add a couple of lines to the coolcafe global.asa and add three lines to the forums inc_top, check out the coolcafe site, there are instructions in their forum.

I'm not having any luck finding the mods that need to be made to the global.asa file. Actually I'm just not having any luck, default.asp won't even load now.

I edited the global file and I have looked at all of the modded files several times and I can't figure out why it isn't working(granted I am new to ASP). It's just becoming very frustrating. Every file that had to be modified for Cool Cafe is now not working.

I only modified the files specified by the readme.txt file that came with cool cafe install and the database upgrade. I do have some mods on snitz forum, but they are dealing with moderators and colors. The only error that comes up is an http 500 stating that it is an internal server error.
I have been trying to go through and comment out the added code but so far I am not having any luck. And the cool cafe forum isn't really much help. The files that were modified are inc_top.asp, register.asp, pop_profile.asp and pop_delete.asp.
My website is www.geekmonkey.net and you can try the register or profile link and you will get an error. I would setup a test id so you could login and look at the chat but since most of the popup menus are no longer working it's kind of hard to do that.

hi all,
i have had some luck with the Conquer Chat at http://www.theill.com/asp/conquerchat.asp but at my school i get an error whenever it refreshes...it is somehting to do with update.js that they use.
the error is something like undifined is undifined
any way see if u have any luck

I have used the dream chat and the CChat mentioned above. It was easy to set in with the snitz connection, and db. i can send my files if you wish to show you how i got it.
