One thing I plan to add to Snitz in my own version is a "referer" type bit of code that will let me see who is referring users to my site. So, on the Email This To A Friend feature, I would send a link like
http://www.mywebsite.com/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=77&CAT_ID=5&REFERINGUSER=183
where REFERINGUSER would be the uid of my registered user. In this way, when users hit the site, I can look for that referingUser querystring, and save to a database if it exists. This way, I can thank registered users for referring people to my site, and also keep statistics about click thrus - how many people are hitting my site BECAUSE they were referred to it. Is this type of content worth trying to build into the entire forum? Anyone else interested?
