After checking out several varieties of coding from various locations, I've noticed that most of the MODs appear to have originated from somewhere else, but the author or source was not always included in the code. I'd appreciate MOD developers including this source/author information within the coding so that all developers get credit for their efforts, including the originators.

could you inform us which ones, this is not something that we would tolerate or support, if code originates elswhere and has a requirement that the author be mentioned, then that is what the mod author should be doing, if not they are stealing.

I guess I should've rephrased my post. It's not always a matter of whether they're mentioned, because an author name may be included, but finding the contact information for them may be more difficult if it's not included in the MOD. It may be personal choice, but I prefer to also have the contact information and a source location if possible so I can review the original code in addition to the MOD code.

by "originated from somewhere else" do you mean you downloaded them from a web site that wasn't owned by the author of the mod?

Somewhere else referring to someplace other than this site. i.e. the author's site or a scripting download site with original coding prior to MOD changes.

I can understand that, but surely that is up to the MOD writer, we can't dictate that they must include an email address or contact info in their code.

You weren't being asked to dictate anything, it was directed at MOD Authors as you correctly surmised.

I also prefer to see the credits for the original code.
like,
' 'snitz copyright info etc. '.... '---------------------------------- 'Originially coded by ......... 'http://...... '@........... '----------------------------------
