I've realized that when I try to send a PM with the pager to a user having a nickname with an empty space (for example, "john davis"), I receive the error page "The parameter is incorrect." It doesn't happen with all users having a one-word nickname, like "john". Also, there is no prob also with the empty-space nickname when I use the PM placed in the forum homepage. Is just that the cause, the double nickname with the empty space? Does anyone else experienced the same? Is there a solution for that bug?

Thank you very much

the problem is just that, I've done a lot of tests...Pager gives "Parameter Incorrect" when sending a pm to a user with a nickname containing an empty space (name-empty space-surname)......I was not been able to find any post related to this prob in the search....how is it possible no one else has experienced the same prob???

I just tested this on my site and it worked fine. The hyperlink in the PM Pager looked like this:

javascript:openWindowPM('pm_pop_send.asp?Mdest=Bill Gates&method=Topic')

Can you paste your pm_pop_pager.asp code here?

an important update, Jeff: just realized that the problem occurs with Netscape only, it works fine with Internet Explorer.....cannot imagine why.....

I looked at your code and it looks ok. It's different from mine, but probably because I'm using the Active Users 4.0 MOD.

I registered at your site as "Jeff H" (note the space) and tested with both IE 6 and Mozilla and the pager worked fine. I was able to send myself a PM from the pager with no error.

What version of Netscape are you using that's giving you the error? The only other possible solution I can think of is to parse each member name and replace any spaces found with '%20'
