Not sure what is causing this, but I set up forum.website.com as an alias to website.com/forum. I also changed the Home URL and Forum URL fields.
I found I could not logout or login without using the old URL (ie website.com.forum). Initially I get the succesful login/logout text, but I'm either still logged in or not logged in.
I eventually figgered out I had to clear my cookies.
This isn't a bug. There is nothing we can do about that. The same thing happens when you use a frame on one site...and the forum is in another frame on another site. The browser looks for the incorrect cookie and that prevents you from logging in. Usually clearing your cookies fixes it.
