i'm happy to see that a new version was released, because i had problems to install the old one. Now i have tested the new on an sql server with a blank database but i get the following error:

i have tested the admin, login with the odbc connectivities under start-> system, and it works.what must i do ?
The 3.3.04 version is basically the same 3.3.03 version...but with some security fixes. So you will find most/all of the bugs that were in the 3.3.03 version in the 3.3.04 version.
The new version we are working on is the 3.4 version which will have most if not all of the bugs that have reported, fixed.
For your problem, you need to go to setup.asp?RC=5 to install your forum.
