I am using snitz forum 2k version 4 beta 3, and it has just been hacked. I know that this is a beta version so I don't complain about anything, and I have a recent backup so this is no big deal for me.
But I would like to know if the dude used bruteforce to hack my admin password (and I have good reasons to think he did that) or if he did exploit a security hole, and in that case maybe you guys wants to know about it so that it won't happen to you.
But I can't read it, as you can guess. Can anyone here translate it in english? Also is there a security fix that I could have missed regarding snitz 2k version 4 beta 3?
korbendallas, please make sure you apply for the mailing list. I keep scanning the forum (inc. closed ones) for any security patches and try to release a patch in an our or so for v4...
That website announced the hack method on the 6th, and on 7th they listed some of the hacked sites. In one of them they said that they are sorry because some of the Turkish websites are also hacked. That specific topic announces only two more hacked sites...
