Hi there...
Yesterday I loaded up everything and I got as far as my setup.asp in my browser. When I entered the default user name/password and hit ENTER, I got an error message on line 58. After a couple of hours of trying to figure it out I gave up.

Tonight I tried logging on but didn't get as far. I got an error 3001 (?) msg that told me to recheck the strDB type and StrconnString selection.

With all that said...re: config.asp
I have selected an ACCESS db as StrDBtype
and have selected the first line in the strconnstring choice:

strConnString = "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=" & Server.MapPath("/snitz_forums_2000.mdb")

I'm lost with the info that's supposed to go within the brackets before the mdb file.
I uploaded all the Snitz files into my Forums folder on my provider's server, and uploaded the mdb file to the cgi-s folder at the server.

My questions are:
what address should I put in the strconnstring brackets?
I put in: /home/my site name/www/forums/cgi-s/snitz_forums_2000.mdb
Is this correct? that's the path that I see in my ftp Pro that I use to upload files to my site.(that's the path where my snitz mdb file is located)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Very confused.
JB

Take a look at the installation guide in my siggy. Hopefully that will give you the info you need.

Hi Kat...
Me again. I found your "siggy" if that's what your installation link on your msg is.
However, I have found out that my server provider supports MySQL.
DO you have an installation for that type of db?

I reinstalled all the files to my server again and now I am getting the following error msg when I try to log into the admin prompts...

ADODB.Connection.1
.error 80004005
connection not open
/forums/setup_login.asp
line 58

Does this mean anything to you? I'm spending way too much time trying to figure it out but I want to get it done.
Thanks again in advance
JB
