ive just installed Smile Manager 3.3 and ive uploaded the images i want to use as smilies, done the codes i want to use, linked to the pictures, but when i put that code in a post, all the see is the code - no picture, can sum1 help?

let me give you a tip: try searching for posts similar to yours, because i have answered this question 1001 times already. here's 1002:
instead of typing this as the url:
http://www.yourdomain.com/images/smile_one.gif
use this:
images/smile_one.gif
loose the http:// stuff

i uploaded the smilies to the same directory as my forum so i didnt do the whole URL, all i did was 'smilie.gif'. Do i need to add the whole thing?

you should use vraf/cont.gif as the path.
and why your smilies don't work: you don't read the instructions!
it says to use GIF and not jpg

right, i just made all the images i want to be, .GIFs and uploaded to a new directory.
the URL to an image would be:
www30.brinkster.com/vraf/smilies/????.GIF
i put the directory as /smilies (as vraf is the username for the brinkster account) followed by the name of the picture. When i look at my list of smilies, the images are displayed so i know my directorys are correct, but still doesnt work when i post. Does the code need to be something special i.e. contain a special character?
