I found the source of the bug, the field that sets the members preference as to whether Alerts should be shown in not populated on registration. I have now updated the database to fix this and made the necessary modifications to register.asp
Those who have downloaded this MOD should follow the link below to get the upgrade pack that contains the updated MOD files and a text file with instructions on editing the forum file to fix the bugs: Upgrade to Version 1.1 - Fixes Several Bugs
I have also added a new feature with version 1.1, it now includes ssupport for adding signatures to Alerts. The signatures can be dynamic or static.
Further features will arrive soon!
I aplogise to anyone who has experienced the bugs!! Sorry!!

Thanks for the feedback!
I fixed the registration bug and the pop_toggle_newsflash.asp bug.
My grasp of French isn't perfect which is worrying when I have my speaking exam next week but I think I get you karyna. URLs are implemented in version 1.1 and hopefully images will be in version 1.1.1 but I haven't tried that out.
I've added some new features and just to create another readme and zip so watch this space.

I fixed a few more bugs thanks to your feedback and added a few more features.
So here it is, those who have version 1.1 can now download a further update pack to add the new features and bug fixes of version 1.1.1! Those who have yet to download the MOD should simply download the full MOD which has instructions for a fresh install with the various big fixes contained in that. Download Version 1.1.1 Upgrade Pack Download Version 1.1.1 Full MOD Pack
The new features in version 1.1.1 are: Edited By On Date - When you edit an Alert an edited message is stored with the Alert. Lock Alerts - This works differently to the lock functions on other forum elements. The Lock Alert function allows an administrator to "Lock" an Alert so that only they can edit/delete it. Image Support - Images are now supported in Alerts providing the option for Images in Posts is turned on in the Feature Configuration of the forum.
Once again I apologise to anyone whose forum has been disrupted by the bugs in this MOD.

I now get this error when trying to delete a news. When you make changes please a text file stating the changes from the previous mods eg, inc_functions.asp. This way we don't have to make the previous changes we already made.
Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a03ee'

/forum/pop_delete_newsflash.asp, line 150
" This Alert has been locked by " & chkNFLock(rsNF("N_LOCK") & "<br>You are not allowed to Delete it!" & vbcrlf) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^

I've tried to change the MOD history section of my ReadMe files to show where files have been further changes from the original installation changes. If you have used the update packs the text files with them contain only the new changs to files for that update.
The latest update (v1.1.2) requires you only to download the zip file, extract the files and upload. But a text file with the MOD with the updated MOD history is included, hopefully slightly clearer than before.
Download Version 1.1.2 Upgrade Pack
Please note that the Full version should only be downloaded for making a first installation of the MOD, otherwise you should download all the relevant upgrade packs.

His website is still functioning, so his email might still work. webmaster@vdesign-studios.com
See if what his progress is on it. He may have upgraded it since he last posted it here.
Cheers,
Etymon
