I've searched around to find a solution for my problem, but I couldn't find anything good enough.
I've installed the Avatar mod with the MOD setup, and everything was fine, but when I try to open an existing topic, edit my profile, registering a new account, the page isn't shown, and the default microsoft explorer error page (not the one you get when you have connection mode) says that some errors occurred and the page couldn't be shown. I've followed all the instructions and redone it more times again, but it never changes. I've also uploaded the new MOD setup file, but it's always the same. Can someone help me please? Thanks!
EDIT: the precise errors are these:
(when I try to opena a topic, so when it's called TOPIC.ASP....)
ADODB.Recordset error '800a0bb9' Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one another. /forum/inc_functions.asp, line 1790
(when I try to edit my profile and I call pop_profile.asp....)
Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a03fe' Expected 'Select' /forum/pop_profile.asp, line 662 end if ----^
(when I call 'register.asp...' from registering a new account)
Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a03f8' Expected 'Sub' /forum/inc_profile.asp, line 182 end if 'extended profile ----^
I'll try to review again my correction. Hope someone guess where I'm wrong and help me, thanks.

from the errors, it looks like the database update probably didn't complete without errors, and you need to check your edits to the files again, looks like something wasn't edited correctly. |

Ok, it's going fine! I found some errors caused by some previous modifications of the topic file and probably too simple mistyping in the other two... I'm glad it's turning out ok! Anyway, excuse me for boring you with this 'copying errors'... but I'm a newbie in this, so it's easy to do some mistakes and to see things more difficult than they really are. BTW, thank you very much for your attention!

No problem, the instructions are written based on an "unmodified" version of the file. But, most people have edited their files one way or another, so obviously the instructions will be a little different for each person. |
