Hi eneryone,
I have installed the "Hide E-Mail Mod" using the .zip that I found with the following modified files:inc_profile.asp, pop_mail.asp, pop_profile.asp, register.asp, topic.asp.
Everything seems to work fine, except that instead of, when a User chooses to Hide his/her e-mail and someone tries to send them an e-mail by clicking on the e-mail icon, to show the pop_mail.asp with the "sorry This User Has Chosen To Hide Their E-Mail Address" message, The e-mail icon disappears completely from the topic.asp, along with the PM icon (so the user can't even receive a private message). What am I missing ? what have I done wrong ? Some help would be very much appreciated.

When someone chooses to hide their e-mail, the e-mail icon will not be shown when viewing a topic.
If you overwrote your topic.asp with the one in the .zip file, that's why you aren't seeing a private message icon. The topic.asp file in the .zip file only has the modifications to hide the e-mail link. |

Could you please tell me what should I change on topic.asp, so when a user chooses to hide his e-mail, the pm icon doesn't go away, along with the e-mail icon ?

u don't want to un-hide the e-mail icon, snice the user has specified to NOT show his e-mail...so, people'll get mad if they get e-mailed when they don't want to...
u just want to show the PM icon. i suggest d/l'ing the MOD and seeing what you have 2 put in the topic.asp...

and also, do me a favor and see if the Guest can view member profiles, it gives me a problem...could you do that?

and try to send me an e-mail (my username there is Alex)you will see what I mean. I don't mind if the e-mail icon goes away, but the strange thing is that the moment a user checks to hide his e-mail, his PM icon also goes away together with the e-mail icon!.
Unfortunately I don't know enough about asp, in order to fix this by my shelf.
As far as for the other thing you asked me, I will be glad to help, just let me know which forum you want me to check for you.
