On my site I use certain fonts which give the pages a feel that without them it just doens't have.

Unfortunately, these are fonts that people normally wouldn't have installed.

Is there away, using asp coding, that I can check to see if they have these fonts installed and if not make them aware via some sort of automatic download/install notice?

I'm looking for something similar to what you might get if you don't have the latest verion of flash installed and a site needs it.

Is there a way to set that up to look for fonts?
If so, how would I go about doing so?

You could try here, this was Microsoft's answer to basically the same question WEFT - "Web Embedding Font Tool" - of course only works with IE as far as I know.

I'm not sure if that's what I'm looking for or not.

I'm looking for some sort of script/app that when loading a page asks...

Does this person ahve "XXXXXXXXXXX font" installed on thier computer?
If not, notify to download.

Which then if yes is selected it downloads and installs the fonts not installed.

Is this possible?

I think WEFT pretty much works the way you want with the only restriction being that it only works with users with IE.

There may be other similar things out there, but WEFT is the only one I've personally seen.
