This MOD allows MEMBERS to view only the Categories they wish to view creating a sort of MySnitz page.
The ADMIN can set which Categories MUST be viewed by all, and then the MEMBER can choose from the rest.
I have completed the member side of the code for this MOD, and now am moving to the Admin pages.
To view the first piece, go to http://www.potf2.com/forums (it is a Star Wars site but don't hold that against me).
You can use:
username: demo password: demo
Simply choose Add More Categories from the table. The ADMIN will be able to call it whatever he/she wants and will be able to modify the description.
You can remove a Category by choosing (del) by the Category name.
This also makes it possible for there to be MEMBERS ONLY forums, only viewable once you log in.
Please let me know your thoughts on this MOD. This is kind of UserGroup Lite... but it will serve my purposes (and hopefully other websites once its done) well.
I am going to complete the MOD stand-alone first because my site does not need any extra personalization features (i.e. I don't want my members changing the look and feel of the site).
BUT, I agree that it would be useful to merge the two MODs together into a common UI for Members and Admin.
I will take a look at the personalization MOD to see what changes would need to be made.
