If this is related to the REFER field being NULL/empty, maybe we could circumvent this problem by checking the REFER field. If this is NULL/empty, the page should redirect somewhere, say the default.asp page. At least it won't get stuck in an infinite loop.
It's not that it's empty, it's just not what is expected. For Example, when someone logs in when they are on the post screen, instead of the Referrer being the topic they were looking at, or the forum they were looking at (in the case of a new topic), the Referrer has now been changed because of the login sequence.
