I have noticed that some users have uploaded some of my mods to the Mod Resource and the Snitz Exchange sites. Now I have a problem with that. If anyone is going to upload my mods to those sites, you either make sure the mod is kept up-to-date or don't upload it at all.
I spent quite a few days helping a user with one of my mods and realized the problem was he downloaded an older version of the mod. All this would have been avoided if the mods that were available for download at these other download locations would stay up-to-date.
All my mods are available here in the MOD W/Code forum. If they want an up-to-date version of my mods, they can always search for it here. Sometime in the near future I will upload the mods to an alternate site.
Thank You.

Davio, if one of your mods shows up at the Snitz Exchange let me know. I can attach your user_ID to it so that you can modify (or dispose of) it.

The Email Validation mod is at the Snitz Exchange. Most likely outdated too.

Well I'm guilty of uploading the BAN_IP mod to freeaspcode and I've just removed it.
Problem is (and this is a generalisation) the links here get stale pretty quick and when they don't work half the time people end up helping each other out by swapping mods via email or uploading to Ls3k or freeaspcode.
Davio how about getting your mods shifted into the MODs completed forum ? Searching the archive now to find a mod is getting painfully slow, or just times out (try searching for 'ban ip' and click search archive).
Its easier obviously if you restrict the search to the mod forum but I'm guessing most people dont even get that far.

The Ban IP mod is in the Completed Mods forum. I will move the rest in there when I feel the mod is pretty stable.

Yeah I know. That's one of the reasons why I plan to upload my mods to an alternative site. ie. the Mod Resource.

What we really need is freeaspcode/ls3k plus a couple of mirror sites

I also have mods for download on http://www.snitz.info
I have no problem with updating things, but I need an e-mail from a mod author that a change has been made. Or we can all subscribe to a forum on your site where you post your new items. Somewhere with a locked topic perferrably, so we don't get notified everytime someone asks a question about a mod.

Oh Sue, the mods on the snitz.info site are ok. I don't have a problem with that because I usually email you with the updated file. I was particulary reffering to the Mod Resource and Snitz Exchange.

The reason the Snitz exchange and the mod resource can be trickey is because anyone can upload any mod. Then the mod creator is stuck because the person who uploaded the mod, not the mod creator, has admin rights to that mod on that server.
I added a function to the Snitz exchange that will let admins and moderators change the submitter to another user, but mod creators will still need to request the change be made.

How about we setup some sort of mailing list where mod authors could post their completed MOD's too and that would go to Nathan, Brad and Sue or whomever else is 'hosting' MOD's for them to upload ?
I know thats a little extra work for those hosting the MOD's but it would make it easy on the Authors and basically allow 3 mirror's of all mods.

Maybe it would be a good idea to put a version number at the top of one of your modded files... In a comment line... ??? That might help with any confusion between versions of your specific mod.

DarkLight, a system is already being worked out for that.
On the Snitz Exchange/Mod Resource thing, it will really help if Reinsnitz Stimmy and I are able to get the two systems integrated and located at exchange.snitz.com
