Quite often we get asked how can i get more users.
Well I was a bit bored today, and thought i would visit a few sites on the SnitzRing. But instead, I visited the Hub, and had a look at the statistics.
There are currently only 20 sites in the ring, but theses figures show you haw many times people click on the webring to go to a site.
Ranked: 8wks 2wks 1 987 453 Snitz Forums 2000 2 320 108 Huw's Snitz Forum test Site 3 92 6 Nick's NTN Trivia Info 4 85 22 Gorbunok's Unemployment Forum 5 83 16 Dunzell's Den
So, if you join the webring, you will get a share of that traffic, and the more sites in the ring, the more traffic will be generated.

Huwr, good suggestion. But in my case I don't want to generate more traffic since I have specific audience. Is there a way to include the webring code without being listed ? Like that maybe some of my visitors can discover new and interesting forums.

Huwr, I went to the first site I saw in the ringhub: http://www.barcin.net/forum/ But it appears that the snitz copyright info is missing, maybe you can contact them ?

That sites based on the "Metaworks forum" that can be found here: http://www13.brinkster.com/aokforum/
It's basically a Snitz (or a HIGHLY modified ASP-DEV) that has had some basic editing to make it look less like a snitz, though I can still see a lot of snitz in it....

It does look like its based on ASP-DEV.
Looks more like a really highly modified ASP dev than a modified Snitz to me. Might not even be either.

I checked it out and signed up. I haven't checked all the sites, but the first two I looked at, neither of them had the webring code on their site!!! WTH?! So they get the benefit of clicks from other sites, without reciprocating!

normally you shouldn't be able to go to the site if it does nt find the ring banner, it may be that it was not on the page you were sent to, but could you say which two you visted.

I just went through and accepted alot of sites that had been sitting there for awhile. In the e-mail that is sent out to site when they are accepted, there is instructions (a little vague though) on how to get the webring code and it instructs them to put it in the inc_footer.asp file (though it doesn't say where in the inc_footer.asp file).
After a week or two, if they still don't have the code on there site, I'll suspend them until they do. |

Interesting what you find in a webring.
The creators of the Rich Text Editor on which my RTE mod was based use a snitz. They are having trouble integrating their RTE though.

Stupid question probably, but webrings are usually generated by a company like yahoo and maintained by the person who came up with the idea for the specific ring, right?
Now where should I go to find the webring(s) that I might like to join? What sites have good rings? Also, what should I look for in a good webring? Should it have a lot of websites in the ring, or would it generate more trafic if there are only a few sites in the ring?
Thanks,
Roland

Links are missing on the Web Ring. There are serial Numbers but several of them have no links. I could not see Mine.
