This modification adds a <b>Search In:</b> option to the search form.
You can select to search <font color=blue>Entire Message</font id=blue> or <font color=blue>Subject Only</font id=blue>

Just replace your search.asp with the linked file.

search.asp

this mod works pretty well for finding subjects with specific stuff.

Two things I noticed:
1)It wierd how i type "test" for with subjects only and it returned "Welcome to Snitz Forums 2000" as one of the posts with "test" in its subject.

2)the "back" link you added aligns left whereas in the other pages stuff like this is usually centered. It also has leading underscores.

I changed it from this:
<pre id=code><font face=courier size=2 id=code>
<p align="left"><font face="<% =strDefaultFontFace %>" size=<% =strDefaultFontSize %>>
<a href="JavaScript:history.go(-1)">    Back</a>
</font></p>
</font id=code></pre id=code>

To this:
<pre id=code><font face=courier size=2 id=code>
<p align="center"><font face="<% =strDefaultFontFace %>" size=<% =strDefaultFontSize %>>
<a href="JavaScript:history.go(-1)">Back</a>
</font></p>
</font id=code></pre id=code>

Cheers,

- Alan

Also HuwR, I think it would be easier if you made comments in the modified search.asp file as to what you modified or added in the file from the original file that came with either the snitz betas or production releases. That way, instead of changing my asp file on my test server which has probably been modified to add other mods to it, I can manually add your code to my file.
Just a suggestion.

I would normally comment it, but ther are not many requests to do with search.asp, so I figured it best just to change it in most cases. I only added a few lines of code, so shouldn't be difficult to find.

Anyway, I will change code as per your suggetions.

I will investigate the test thing, since this is what I used and didn't get the welcome to snitz.

This is correct, the Forum subject is "Testing Forums" the Topic Subject is "Welcome to Snitz Forums 2000", it searches both.

My preference, my menu's are also on the left rather than the top.

I've added another option to the search.asp, it allows you to search for "exact phrase".

I have updated the link at the top, so just re-download it.
