Okay, I've seen several references to "Local NT Groups" in this forum and in the product setup, but I can't find a description of exactly what Snitz Forums does with local groups.

For starters, can I assume that by "global" group, we are talking about the Windows network domain under which the user login resides? For example, user "FHTRX7\RALPH" belongs to domain FHTRX7 and is authenticated through that relationship. A user can only belong to ONE such domain, right?

On the other hand, is a "local" group merely a security group, such as "Power Users"? A single user ID can belong to many such local groups. Also, these groups can be defined at the machine and at the domain level. How does Snitz use one of these local groups?

Where can I find out more about using the Local Groups feature?

Global Groups!

We created the current code to look at the Globl Groups. Now if it is a single system might be \\%computername%\%group%

When NT auth and groups are on it will check the users groups

\\%Domain%\%Group%

%group%, %group%, %Group%

If the Current forum has a Group listed in the users Groups then they will have access.

Very Easy.

You can display the strNTGroupsSTR in one of the ASP pages to see what groups you are in for testing

Hope this helps
