Hi all.
I have some forums running that are publicly accesable to all users that can get into that folder but how do I set one of the forums to be viewable by all but only select members can post to it?
getting lost in help forums....learning lots, just not what I need now.

Go into the 'edit forum properties' page. ( You can access this by using the pencil icon to the far right of the forum's row on the default.asp when logged in as the admin)
Inside, you will find category information, subject information, the message, ect.
The select you want is the "Auth Type:" select. Here you can choose from: Everybody, Memebers Only, Password protect, Allowed User list, and seveal combinations of the above.
If you choose Allowed User List, you must choose the users you want to have access in the Member List: boxs below.

that only allows in the allowed members tho', I want public viewing but only moderators can post

Lock the forum and give those users that you want to post in that forum moderator rights for that forum. They'll be able to post in it and it'll be open for everyone to view.
