Hello
First sorry for my english
I got the forum working quite good on brinkster, i upload the original files without mayor problem, and setup was succesful, Then and error apears on profile.asp, I reupload some of the files posted on Yahoo by Davio, and now is working good.
The question are:
1.- The config.asp upload by me, has uncomented another line than the config of Yahoo, (Access / SLQ). Will be a problem?.
2.- I change the password of Admin, but i cannīt find the way to change the username Admin.
3.- I read that to prevent download of the database, a good idea is to change the name, Snitz_forums.mdb for other, but may I change other files?.
4.- My olf forum had about 20 hits per day, and 2 or 3 post every day, is brinkster free service enought fot that?

If it's working now with no error, there should be a problem. Usually, there're only 2 places need to be uncommented.

You cannot chnage the Admin to anything else. However, you can create another username, and set it as the admin.

Yes you need to make change in config.asp. Because the database file name should match, or else your forum can't find the database to store. Where to change? It should be at 2nd uncommented line.

Yes it is enough.

Hello, thanks for your quick reply Kenno,
The questions 2/3/4 are clear, but I think that I have explained wrong the first question,
I only have one of the strConnSting lines uncommented on config.asp the following:
strConnString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" & Server.MapPath("/marmer/db/snitz_forums_2000.mdb") '## MS Access 2000 on Brinkster
As a result of an error in profile.asp during the execution , I uploaded some (but not all) files recomended by Davio in other post, that means that now my forum is working with mixed original and Davio files.
Then I take a look the config.asp of Davio, (not uploaded) and the uncommented line was the following:
My question/doubt is:
Why my forum is working if the config is different? (Access Vs MySLQ)
- Should be a problem?

Davio uses MySQL database for his forum. You're absolutely need to comment (') that link if you want to upload that config.asp file. I'm sure you'll get the error if you don't.

hmmm! How nice of me to give out my username and password for my MySQL database. Maybe while I'm at it, I can give out my credit card numbers too. 
Wil fix that asap.

I though when I donwload your corrected files for Brinkster that all the information on this files was not confidencial, and you gave there as Radiobeacon for the newusers.
Sorry, I apologize the inconvenients, neXt time I will try be more carefull.

Why are you apologizing? It was my fault. I forget I left that information in there. But no worries, the MySQL database is not on the internet. It's on my local network.
I have already changed that info to the correct ones.
