"Optional Email notification features supporting many popular components (if it's not included, let us know)"

Could you please let me know "When a user posts a reply to an existing topic , will an email notification be sent to the initiator automatically?". If so, how to set for this ?

My server has CDONTS mail component and I am able to send links to friends using the "send topic to a friend" .

Please help me

Thank YOU
Anu

First you'll need to goto your Admin Options and then to Feature Configuration

From there you'll need to select the Highest level of Subscription

Then you'll need to edit each of your Categories and select the Subscription Level

Then you'll need to edit each of your Forums in each of your Categories and select the Subscription Level.

Then each of your users will be able to subscribe to Topics (there is a link labeled Subscribe to topic when viewing the posts).

Open your forums (default.asp). Log in as Admin and on the right side of the forum table you'll find several buttons. Click on the icon to open the category/forum editing page.
There will be a pull down list called "Subscription level:" there.

I don't think it's up to me to tell you what to set the subscription level to. Ask your members what they want.

The subscription is built up like a tree:

Board > Category > Forum > Topic
> Forum > Topic
> Topic
> Topic
> Category > Forum > Topic
> Topic
> Forum > Topic

You can leave the board subscription out and have category as highest level but still need to turn subscriptions on for each forum and it's topics.

Hope this explains it a bit more.

I have set the highest level to Subscribe by Category then Forum Subscribtions Allowed and Topic Subscribtions Allowed but still not working. I know my email setting is correct because after a member has register he will receive an email notification to confirm his username and password.
What did I miss here?
Thank you

Go back to the second post here, from Richard. It gives you the directions. After you turn the board's subscription level on, you need to edit each forum to allow subscribing.

Very Very Strange.

I installed the Snitz Forum Freshly. Added "File attachment Module". Everything weny smoothly and I am successful. I have CDONT's component. I was able to send mails earlier(before the reinstallation) using "send topic to a friend". But after this fresh installation: I am unable to send mails.

What should be my email server address. Please Please help me
