whenever I use the following connection for Access database, I get a catastrophic failure, which is odd, because it appears to be correct to me...

DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=c:\whatever\database.mdb

Yet when I use the following, it works fine

Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=c:\whatever\database.mdb

Idea's?

You might try installing the latest MDAC (http://www.microsoft.com/data/).

I'm pretty sure your error is caused by the absence of the older version ODBC driver for Access on the server. If so, you won't fix the problem by downloading the current MDAC. I'd just use the OLE DB driver and be happy at least one driver works. :)

I'll have to use PWS for testing of older drivers then :)
