0h yeah, you *can* upgrade :) just replace the files with the new ones and go to admin_mod_dbsetup.asp and choose the upgrade guestbook from the dropdown. Make sure you select the correct one, because there different for upgrading from 3.0 and from 3.3.03

Email is enabled, the ICQ link works on my members.asp page.
Could the fact that I am using Snitz Forum 3.1 sr4 have anything to do with it?

aha, I just noticed, they have to be signed in in order for the link to appear - because it uses snitz members database to send an email-icq message. No fix for this, sorry :(

I dont think you understood, the Person who signed the guestbook has to be logged in in order for the link to work. Eg if I signed your guestbook and I wasnt a member, the link would not appear, however if I were a member, the link would appear.

If you read the readme.txt it will tell you where to change your inc_top file to add the link to the guestbook :)

You're modding it to make a guestbook for every member, so that I can then make it into a journal for every member :)
We looked at this on Aznknight's site, remember? Every member has a guestbook of their own. I'm wanting to give every member their own journal based on that mod.
