I need a function that will get rid of all the odd caracters out of a string so I can safley insert the string into a database. will thisfunction do it for me?
I found the FormatStr() function in inc_functions.asp

and if it will not dows anyone have any function that take care of intrusive caracters?

There is another function in inc_functions.asp. You may look at that also for your needs.

function chkString(fString,fField_Type)
...
