Hi,
Just installed V33 in new directory, NT Logon switched on, but when first user tries to access the default.asp file the following error occurs: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Field 'FORUM_MEMBERS.M_PASSWORD' cannot be a zero-length string.
/forumtest3/register.asp, line 295
Currently have V31 SR4 running with NT Logon working in different directory.
Regards,
Leslie

I have reported this as a bug (http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=&TOPIC_ID=13725) but have not really looked into it too much as I subsequently got Auto Logon working with SQL Server, so it seems particular to Access. Hopefully someone will find the problem soon.

Kym,
Seems like the database does not like the Zero length of each field in the database. I tried changing a few of the fields to Zero Length Allowed, and the error moved on to the next line of code. Will keep you posted.

Leslie

You might want to un-check the Required field attribute as well.

Leslie,
When I was trying to use the Access db I did the same thing and as you say the error moved on to the next field.
I checked the db definitions with a previous version of Snitz and didn't see any obvious differences, but as I say I didn't spend too long on it. Might be worth just comparing with your previous version.

Kym,
Can't see any differences. I will just have to upgrade each of the references manually in place of any other fix at this time.

Leslie

I had also of problems updating to new verion.
and everything was the same issues.
Howevery i was using SQL. But now with this procudure is not have problems
I had to create a new database. But there is a option to tranform the data to the new database and not just over right it.
This way the data is moved over into the New Verions database correctly. and not overrighting it.
Now this might now fix all the issues.
I always had a problems updating the Forums. But now i dont
I have to go into the database and manualy change tables to match the forum.
Remember to always backup your database!
