############################################### ########### IT IS FINALLY HERE !!! ############ ###############################################
VERSION 3.3 of SNITZ FORUMS 2000 has been made available for download.
Download it here: http://forum.snitz.com/download.asp
## WHAT IS NEW IN THIS VERSION ?
New features in this version:
* Complete Topic/Post Moderation
A forum can be set to 1) no moderation (default) 2) topic moderation; topics need to be approved by a moderator before they are visible, replies are not moderated 3) reply moderation; topics are not moderated, but replies need to be approved by a moderator before they are visible 4) total moderation; both topics and replies to those topics need to be approved by a moderator before they are visible.
* Topic Archiving
Archive topics that haven't been active since a selected time per forum or all forums at once. Archived topics can still be viewed by members, existing links to archived topics still work. Archives can be searched and batchdeleted (all posts in archived forum are deleted).
* Subscribe to Board / Category / Forum / Topic
Notification by e-mail no longer is limited to replies to existing topics but a members can now also subscribe to be notified of new posts in a forum or in all forums of a selected category. Depending on the setting by the administrator a member can also subscribe to the complete board, so that he/she gets notified by mail when ever there is a new post in any of the forums.
* Improved unsubscribe
The member now has a link to "My Subscriptions" where he can see all current subscriptions to either the Board/Categories/Forums and/or Topics. Here he can unsubscribe with one click of the button so the member no longer has to search for the topic that he subscribed to.
* Short(er) urls
Forum-titles and Topic-Titles are no longer passed in the urls of Forum.asp and Topic.asp That means that a member can link to a topic by using:
TOPIC.ASP?TOPIC_ID=12345
If a topic is archived the link doesn't break, if the topic isn't found in the live forum, and it exists in the archives, the visitor is automatically redirected to the correct topic in the archives.
* Category and Forum ordering
The Administrator can now order Categories and Forums within categories at will. So the no longer is any need for tricks like adding 1. / 2. / 3. etc. to the Category or Forumtitles to sort them.
* Improved Members-page
Members can now be searched by (part of) their Membername, Firstname or Lastname.
* Fixed a lot of bugs
Smaller bugs and bigger bugs. Added explicit recordsetclosing. Since Snitz Forums becomes more popular, hackers enjoy finding exploits in the code. We had to fix two security related bugs. Those two are enough reason to upgrade !
* New CONFIG-table
Instead of a table with a field per config-item, we now switched to a table with three fields that hold all configuration items. This makes it easier for MOD-builders to add extra configuration information to the database without the need of database upgradescripts. New configuration information stored in the table will automatically be loaded by config.asp so there too is no need for changes and modifications.
## IS IT HARD TO UPGRADE ?
No, like promised will the setup.asp page take care of upgrading all versions since 3.1 All you need to do is upload the files, backup you database (to be safe) and run setup.asp All your members, forums, posts will still be there !
So, what are you waiting for ? Download it here: http://forum.snitz.com/download.asp http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/sf2k/sf2k_v33_02.zip (temp-link)

I have downloaded the code and uploaded everything to my server. But when I run the following page:
http://forums.sweetsports.com/setup.asp
I get a page that states the following:
To upgrade the database you need to be logged on as a forum administrator.
I am doing this as a clean install.
So I can't login if there is no database setup already.
Please help.

I downloaded the new version but could not find the ACESS 2000 database. In the tools zip there is only an ACCESS 97 database, the 2000 cannot be found anywhere else. Please advise and thanks....

Just use the Access 97 database the way it is, or open it in Access 2000 so it gets converted and use it then.

The INSERT INTO statement contains the following unknown field name: 'C_STRMOVENOTIFY'. Make sure you have typed the name correctly, and try the operation again.

my_Conn.Execute (strSql)
I deleted the space but still no luck, ill keep on checking
------ Update -----
This field "'C_STRMOVENOTIFY'" Is not in Forum_topics where the sql is trying to insert.
