Hi, if anyone could help me with this I'd appreciate it greatly. I have my forum installed and set it up, I have the Admin username and a new password for it. However if I or anyone else tries to register a new name/member...this error occurs:

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'

Server.CreateObject Failed

/forum/inc_mail.asp, line 155

Invalid ProgID. For additional information specific to this message please visit the Microsoft Online Support site located at: http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.


If someone has any idea on how to fix this I'd love to hear it...Thank you for any help

That error means that the e-mail component that you have specified in the Email Configuration screen isn't installed on your server.

thanks for your help. the file was actually there but it must have been corrupt. Once I re-uploaded the file, the forums worked perfectly.
