Help!

The author of the last post and the folder colors that show new posts have been added to a particular topic are not getting updated correctly. For example when one of our tech support gurus responds to a customer query, the date on forum.asp seems to be updated, but the "by: [username]" is incorrect and the folder stays yellow instead of turning purple. This strange behavior is odd particularly because I haven't made any changes to the source. Running "update forum counts" seems to correct the error.

Could we have reached some sort of capacity limit with our SQL 7 database or a conflict with the 3.1 SR4 source code?

Any suggestions?

Visit http://www.techsmith.com/forums to see the source code in action.

TIA,
Jennifer

There seems to be plenty of purple folders there when I visited and with the correct date. Is this a problem with repeat visitor?

Yes, it is. Our tech support guys who visit the site every day use the "Last Post" date information and the purple folders as visual cues that they need to look at those topics to reply to customer queries. Because the "update forum count" option under the admin menu seems to temporarily fix the problem, I've been running it once every morning to try and help out our tech support team. But it seems to last for maybe 3 or 4 posts before the updated information goes awry again.
