Hi everybody,
Tschive has released his new Portal Mod alpha 2 today. You can download it at his forum ( members only ):-

The page span width of the table has grown to full page. ( I dont know if it is more than 600 ) . Pretty neat features, decreased redundancy and good stuff I must say. Good Job Tschive 
This one has chat too and user pager , that was not there in the earlier portal release.
Check it out guyz.
I'll test it out now and get back here in a bit .

it's very cool! but I'm kinda confused on adding news. How do i set that up in links manager?

ya the news thing is kinda mixed up.. I also tried adding news but it didn't work.. lets hope tschive comes to our rescue.. or lets put this question on his site

When I added a resource, I get this error on the home page: ADODB.Field error '800a0bcd'
Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.
/portal/content/include/newlinks.asp, line 40
However, clicking on "Top 5 newest resources" shows me everything I added perfectly. Any ideas what I did wrong?

Same problem here - I canīt add any news. But it looks very fine else.

We should move this thread to mod implementation but anyways...
to add news, you first should download the fix that he has posted on his site, next, instead of using Add Resources link, click on "links" which is at the top. When you are filling in the details of the News you want to add, you will notice a small dropdown menu. Default is "link" but if you select "news" it will be posted as news. I hope this helps.

I just uploaded the fix but still get this:

I found another error:
When I try to edit a link the popup window is looking for a page outside my domain:

I donīt find the filename that I have to correct this address - anybody alse does ?

just found out something more:
The default portalpage looks fine when I logout and when I logon under another name then admin - its only admin that have an error on the defaultpage.

hey all, i think the portal idea is great. I downloaded it and noticed that it gives you all the forum pages too. BUt I already have a snitz forum. yet I still want to use the portal. How do I swap files or how can I just get the portal files??

please wait some days, after fixing the bugs, i will zip the portal only files. so you are able to add the portal features to your existing forum.

I really like the Portal idea but I am having a lot of problems with this portal. How do you add news? I've added news before but I don't know how I did it and I can't seem to do it again.

Your not the only one with problems. I wounder if it has something to do with the database. Many of the IDīs is already used up and deleted. The error messages often looks like this:

The "fix" didnīt fix the problems either. The poll I canīt activate either. But I think its worths waiting for for an answeer to this. The Portal looks so cool.

the poll can be fixed by changing the include from pollmentor.asp to something like view_pollmentor.asp. It was a mistake. Look for the file. I can't remember what it was called but I think that is close.

I'm having problems with the portal: I can't enter news and I'm receiving BOF Errors (or something like that) I don't understand why it doesn't work very well. Will there be a new version or how do I get the new version to install? How can I add news? Also, where is the Portal Forum database located? Is it a part of portal.mdb? Lots of questions - I'm a newbie.

Here is an error that just happened - I tried to add a new category which was successful but then when I went to 'Home' the right column disappeared and an error was placed within the 'Last Five Topics' column. How can this be solved?
