I've tried to buy so many domain names and all where taken already. But when I try to access those sites there are None. ! I wonder why people just hog the domain names when they dont have to use them.

Also this person had in the WHOIS his phone number and email both not working and his account is apparently expired. I contacted the host company to sell that domain to me. Lets hope it works.

This thing is normal, you can see them everywhere.

If you have some strong reason, you can get your domain, otherwise, forget it.

also the reason for this is that people will buy a domain name thinking it will be great, then nothing comes of it and that want to quit paying the hosting costs when they dont make anything.

im the perfect example of this so thats why i know this happens alot. i register domain names for 3 years, find out after 6 mo. - 1 year i dont want them anymore and then they just sit their

3.2.1 Renewal Fee
For all registered domain names, there is a re-registration fee due upon each anniversary date of the domain name registration after the initial two-year registration period. Payment of this fee will re-register the domain name for an additional one-year under the terms of the then current agreement. Payment of the re-registration fee shall be payable in full, in advance, on an annual basis. For domain names with anniversary dates on or after April 1, 1998 the re-registration fee is $35.00 USD. The charges reflect the terms set out in Amendment 9 of the Cooperative Agreement between NSI and the NSF. NSI will remove domain names from its database upon the request of the registrant; however, the re-registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Domain names deleted from the database will be made available for registration by other parties.

3.2.2 Payment of Re-Registration Fee
Thirty (30) days before the annual re-registration fee is due, an invoice will be sent to the Registrant’s billing contact by both postal and electronic mail. The Registrant is obligated to pay NSI immediately upon re-registration of its domain name. Payment is due in full with net thirty (30) days payment terms. If payment is not received by the due date, the domain name will be subject to deactivation and deletion by NSI. Domain names deleted from the database will be made available for registration by other parties.

3.2.3 Notification of Renewal Fee Due
NSI may also provide sixty (60) days advance notice, by electronic mail, to the Registrant’s billing contact (or administrative contact, in the absence of a separately identified billing contact), with a copy to the Registrant’s administrative contact, that the Registrant’s domain name is subject to re-registration and that the Renewal Fee is due on the anniversary of the activation date. This notice also serves as a reminder to the Registrant to update its contact related information, especially any outdated billing contact data.

14. The domain name I want has expired according to the WHOIS record. Why can't I register that name?
The WHOIS record "expiration date" simply indicates the current contract period for a domain name registration. Contract periods vary from one to ten years. If you fail to pay your registration fee, your domain name registration is subject to deactivation and eventual deletion from our systems under normal billing procedures and technology requirements. Many factors may cause the "expiration date" to vary from the eventual date of deletion.

15. When and how will a domain name whose "expiration date" in WHOIS has passed be available for me to register?
Once a domain name has been deleted from our systems under normal billing procedures and technology requirements, it no longer exists and therefore would be available for you to register through our website. To search for availability, please visit www.networksolutions.com and enter the name in the search box.

Also, if you think you have the legal right on that particular domain name, in case of firm or brand names, have a look at:
