I'm getting two error messages, which seemingly appear at random:
quote:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot open database '(unknown)'. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.

/inc_top.asp, line 42

quote:
Provider error '80004005'

Unspecified error

/inc_top.asp, line 42

I don't know what's causing this, or how to fix it. The error message will display for a couple of page refreshes, then disappear for a while.

Same thing I just posted in another thread about this error:

Often this error is caused by a problem with the web server and will vanish after time.

Otherwise, there may be some problem with the database itself, but likeliest is that it's a server-side problem if the forum was working and quit without any other changes made to it.

If the error comes & goes, the server may be overloaded.

Ah OK. Thanks for the info. If I upgrade to Windows 2000 from NT4, should this error disappear? How about if I upgrade to MS SQL 7 (I don't really want to if I don't have to, becauses it costs a lot more)?
