check the path to config.asp is correct in the include statement.

The original mod_dbsetup.asp was not designed to run in the forum directory, but in the mods directory, so your paths may be wrong

the only other thing that would cause this is that your server does not support the file system object

Hello? can anyone give me a sugjestion or two? won't use admin_mod_comander either. The setup will build new pages with a fresh install but still won't use mod_dbsetup.asp.
Have I stumped all the gurus?

The problem is either permission related or server related, both mod acommander and mod_dbsetup use the File system object I am sure this is causing your problem.

Try giving the IUSR_XXXXXX account full control of your web directories, what happens if you then try to run mod_dbsetup?

Has anyone gotten anywhere with this one? I'm having the exact same problems. What happens is that the database (Access 2000) gets opened, but nothing happens. It remains locked, requiring a reboot. I'm so frustrated. I want to install some mods, but cannot. ARGH. Please help.

hehehhehehe
ya i did but only in sql 2000
This has happend to me while importing my database to another sql server database.
Before importing a data base make sure the owner of the database your importing to has login and db ownership. "BEFORE IMPORTING"
only the forum files are impoted and imported as the original owner. sql 2000 will import and export as dbo you have to change each files import owner "remember only import forum tables".
if the login for the fourm data base owner is not set before importing he will not be alloed login "go figure"
Theres one for the books.
sorry i dont think this is going to help your access situation but.....

FUBAR, I have the same problem as you. I have switched to SQL 2000 and still get the same problem with the page hanging while doing the mod_dbsetup.asp. -- As I understand it, I need to run this .asp file to prep my database for the installation of future mods, like the file upload mod. This is KILLING me. I don't know why it just hangs trying to connect to the database.
