I ran setup.asp and got:

Forum setup has been completed.

Congratulations!!
The forum setup has been completed succesfully.
You can now start using Snitz Forums 2000.

Remember to change the default Admin password !!

You can also post the address of your forum there
so others can come and visit you.

Upgrade the database.
(shouldn't be needed for this database!)

Then at default.asp i got

Try clicking the "Search" link at the top right hand side of this forum and then do a search for "Operation must use an updateable query"

Basically, the problem is that the database can't be written to. Most likely the directory where the database is doesn't have read/write/modify permissions set correctly.

this happened to me to, until i changed some of the:


strTablePrefix and strMembersPrefix (something like that) in the strSql statements

to:

FORUM_

it worked. i don't know why.
