The host I am using is supposed to be down tonight from 7pm - approx 10pm Central USA time tonight. Sorry about that.

Without modifying anything, you would also need Scott's Forum Code mod, and the Who's Online mod for this to work properly on v3sr2.

i have problems to get this piece of code
to work, it seems it is a problem with
the cookies, because it doesn't recognize
me, although i am logged in...

you can check it out at:
http://www.paladinsofasheron.org/sc-forum/

i also tried to change the Read.Procedure
of the Cookies, as stated above, but it won't
work either.

I'm running Version 3 btw

Any help would be appreciated <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

Since you are using v3 then you would use the code in the original file that slemieux posted. Disregard any modifications that I have made. Just redownload it and overwrite any files that you have modified.

One other mod you will need is slemieux's Forum Code mod.

Here is the thread where you can read about it:

I am missing the "inc_code.asp"
which is included in the
privatesend.asp

That script is not in the zip.

BTW, i managed to get the Script
to work, i just had to change the
Cookies from ("User") ("Name") to
("Snitz") ("Name"), because i am
running to different Messageboard
Systems on the Site.

Could someone please send me the
inc_code.asp ???

Thx in advance

If you don't want to install slemieux's Forum Code mod, you will still need to download it to get the files:

<b>inc_code.asp
IECODE.asp
netscapebuttons.asp</b>

Here, try this, it's a modified privatesend.asp that doesn't require the inc_code.asp or iecode.asp.

Did you add:

M_PMRECEIVE

and

M_PMEMAIL

to the FORUM_MEMBERS table in your database?

Is there a way to add them online ?
i don't want to download the db and

Try this:

http://www1.domaindlx.com/dssdbs/files/pmdbsetup.zip

just unzip the pmdbsetup.asp into your /sc-forum/ directory and run it from the address bar in your browser.

You will eventually want to download your db and set a default value for these 2 fields. I believe you will get errors for new users that sign up after you make this update, unless you setup default values to be assigned to new users as they sign up.

<b>To fix the problem with the preferences:</b>

In the file <b>pm_options.asp</b> on line 5, remove this code:

Response.Buffer = True

But leave the <b><%</b> that is at the beginning of that line.

Did you add the new table FORUM_PM and the fields in that table that are in the readme.txt in Scott's original post. The files that are in the .zip file I posted are meant to replace the ones in Scott's post. There are still some files in Scott's post that you will need.

I am working on a complete package that will install all of the database fields, so basically all you will have to do is put the files in your /forum directory, run the setup file, edit default.asp with the necessary code and your done. I'm almost done with it.

Wow! fast response time! yes I did add the new table gonna d-load the original and try that. Funny thing is the 1st 2 ppl in the DB can post and receive fine. *scratching head* very cornfusing. Also when you said to sepecify default values when you download your Db fter runnin pmdbsetup. Am I correct to asssume that both are long integers? 1 shows up on the 1st one and 0 on the second. Although they are all 1's and o's {members}
