when i try to email the poster, it wants to send them an e-mail through Outlook, which means that people's e-mail addresses will be given out, and I was hoping to try and avoid this.
I don't recall this happening on this site if you e-mail another user
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers

I think you are using the previous version of Snitz Forums.

i was trying to E-mail the poster on the link on top of their message.
When I do it here, it comes up with a little box saying who you are, your email, their name and email then theres a box to type in your message.
When I try this on my forum, it simply loads Outlook, I was just curious as to know why
Thanks

if you have your email features set to off on your forum, that is what is going to happen. When you click on the email poster link above thier message, it should open up a window saying "Click to send Joe an email" and when you click on the name it will open your default email program, or whatever program is registered to handle the "mailto:" command, which is usually your default email program.
If you want to be able for your users to send email from the forums, you will need to configure your email settings to do that.
