I had the same problem today.
Users appear to have the same name, in my case when they finally logged in a tel-tel sign was that the username only appeared without the Full name
SO: (gbowman), and not: Greg Bowman (gbowman)
What was happening was that I did not have authorization to get Full names from the domain controller. So every user registered with a zero length full name. They all looked like one user as the search in the DB to see if they are a new user (I think) is done using the full name. So they all have the same name.
Once IT gave my machine and username permission to do a directory search on the domain controller it worked fine. Also I posted something similar today here:
