Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0131'

Disallowed Parent Path

/redclad/mod_dbsetup.asp, line 1

The Include file '../config.asp' cannot contain '..' to indicate the parent directory.

I keep getting this when I try running the mod_dbsetup...

BTW,I'm trying to install HuwRs forum code when I get this...

It means that your host is not allowing you to reference a file in the parent directory by using the "../". It's a security measure that some hosts use to keep people out of other people's files. What you need to do is to edit the mod_dbsetup.asp file and remove all instances of "../" and then move the mod_dbsetup.asp file up to your forum directory.

or change the 'Include FILE' to an 'Include VIRTUAL' instead.

This is the error I get when I deleted the '../':

"There has been an error !!

The database could not be opened !!

Code : The Access database has missing tables !!"

And I tried the 'virtual' thing and it didnt work either...

after you delete the ../ did you move the mod_dbsetup.asp file up to your forum directory like I mentioned above?

What do you mean by forum directory? Where I put all the regular files?

If so, then I did that.

I'm new to this stuff so I'm still learning all the terms and what is what..

Did you try this?

<!--#INCLUDE VIRTUAL="../config.asp"-->

You can't use ../ with the virtual command, should be
<!--#INCLUDE VIRTUAL="config.asp"-->
but only if config.asp is in your web route

I have not come across this error before, and have no idea what it may mean, since how does it know what tables you should have?

DO you have a URL I can look at to see the errors
