This Mod allows the forum to have avatar ranks instead of the progressive star rank. It also adds the image to the starting member level. I have changed the extensions to JPG format because they usually have better image quality than GIF. Included are the modified files and the JPG images needed. If you have modified the files included, see the readme. Just place the files in your main forum directory.  The mod is working at: http://www.theqcontinuum.cjb.net

Not if you keep the avatars small. You are in control on what the avatars are not the users. Think of it as a military rank system. 1 stripe is a private while 3 stripes equals a seargent. I'm using the Officers Naval rank system.

Try to keep the images small and you won't have a problem. I am using it on Brinkster and It loads pretty fast.

Remember when applying mods to 3.3 in the "topic.asp" file you need to change the
rs to rsReplies and rsTopic

i'd like to download this but the brinkster file keeps telling me i cannot access links from outside the brinkster site...even when i type it in manually.

nevermind after 50 tries i got it... I noticed theres no changes made to the topic.asp so I take it this will work fine with the instructions given?

By the way even though jpg is better quality by leaving it as a gif you can make the background behind the stripes and rank insignias transparent so users that have odd colored forums or backgrounds in there tables can rest assured there won't be any incompatibility between the color designs and the rank images.

I didn't need to install this cause all you have to do is use a gif that is the ranking of any armed forces.

if you want it so that it doesn't double the images i'm sure one of the developers can tell you what you need to change to make it so it shows single images instead of progressive images.
