Okay, this may be a dumb question. I've uploaded all the files, updated the config.asp file, now the directions say to log in as administrator. Exactly where do I do this? It doesn't say what URL I need to bring up in order to get a login screen. What am I missing here?

ok, say your domain name is: http://www.mydomain.com

and you put the forum in the /forum directory.

The URL to your forum would be: http://www.mydomain.com/forum/

so to get to your forum: http://www.mydomain.com/forum/default.asp

okay, I've done that, the problem is, I get the text file. So, what I see is the file as if I've opened it in a text editor. The directions say "After the forum is installed you can log in as the administrator". By saying "installed" do they mean, uploaded all the files to the directories? Do I have to run an install script or something?

Do what Richard says on his second line but type it http://www.mydomain.com/forum/setup.asp

This will run the setup script to set up your database. Then type in the third direction http://www.mydomain.com/forum/default.asp

and yes, you have to upload the files to your forum directiory on your server and the included database to it's directory as well.

I've tried typing in /setup.asp also and got the same thing - I'm able to read the document as if I had it open in a text editor. No action took place.

Does your webhost support ASP (Active Server Pages) ? The behavior you're describing usually means it does not.

Ahhhhh, you've made a good point. I don't know how I forgot to check that.
