I found others reports to bug and fix for the main code here and there. can we have a forum dedicated for this? or change new release forum to NR bug fix & upgrade.

mod fix should go to their own topic though.

All bugs should be reported here: http://forum.snitz.com/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=11&CAT_ID=1&Forum_Title=DEV+Bug+Reports+%28Open%29

If you have just found a bug, title the post BUG(version): Simple Bug Description and then include a detailed description in the post.

If you have found a bug and fixed it, then title the post BUG+FIX(version): Simple Bug Description

the forum you mentioned looks to me like a developers forum. it's hard for the implementers to follow. what I'd like to see is a forum dedicated for the implementers. where bug fix and upgrade before new version, all approved by the main developers, are provided. people go there and find what they need to change, but not involed in other developing things.
the current forum for the developers may confuse the implementers as they don't know what's really bugs and what are not. if the bugs and fix in the new release need to be fixed if they stick to the older version, etc.

nobody interested in this?
imho, i think it will help the implementers a lot if they can simply check the new release AND BUG FIX, UPGRADE forum to modify their files before the new release.
publish
version,
problem
file to change.
(wether it's in other versions)

As Dave said, we already have two forums for this, an open andd a closed bug forum, the reason it can be so confusing is because people to not do a search for the bug before making a post, you therfore get multiple threads discussing the same fix.

When a bug has been implemented for the next release, the bug should be moved to the fixed forum, where people who have not upgraded can find the bug fixes.

Mods have there own bug forum, this is what MOD Implementation is for

i don't suggest a new forum, but to change
Anouncement: new release to
new release, bug fix & upgrade.
and the content should be talored clean code, have those questions and discustions taken out.

to me it is logical, if i'm pure an implementer, i just read this forum to changed my code accordingly.
the name and contend of DEv-bug open/close looks like a place for developers and really difficult to follow.

e.g. I followed two topics in dev_bug/open, the locked topic backdoor, and user name registration. I still not sure what to do, or if I have done all to correct the problem.
it would be ideal to move the final changed code to the "new releas" forum.

won't it help for the implementors to check for a place for all the release, bug fix and upgrade? all these are related to the base code. sure mod question go to the mod forums.

That's just my personal opinion. I know for the programmers this kind of thing is really boring.

to me the searching is really slow as it loads all the member names, and i have to use dial up most of the time. Won't be a problem to others though.

and bookmark is not implemented here, which would help people a lot.

Anyway, Snitz and the people here are great.
