i just attempted to setup snitz forums, and i am getting the following error message:
HTTP 500.100 - Internal Server Error - ASP error
Internet Information Services

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Technical Information (for support personnel)

Error Type:
Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80040E37)
The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'FORUM_A_TOPICS'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly.
/forum/default.asp, line 297

and before this it asked me to update the database, i am using the default access 2000 database that came with the forum software.
any help would be appreciated... thx pix

You are using the alpha version right ?
You need to run the mod_dbsetup script to update the database.

How can that be ?
'FORUM_A_TOPICS' hadn't been introduced back then.

thanks again for the prompt response, i redownloaded the forum source, and started from scratch again, i double checked an no file was modified later than 2000 so i assume i have the non alpha version. I read the readme.txt again, and I am now recieving another error message:
HTTP 500.100 - Internal Server Error - ASP error
Internet Information Services

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Technical Information (for support personnel)

Error Type:
Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80004005)
Operation must use an updateable query.
/message/inc_functions.asp, line 644

Browser Type:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0)

Page:
GET /message/default.asp .

I am testing this on a windows 2000/iis 5 on a test machine before migrating it to the server. i dont have dns setup yet on the test machine cause there is no need to. http://128.252.203.118/message you can check for yourself. Again thanks for the prompt help. pic

You need to put the database in a directory where the IIS user has read and write access.
If you use Frontpage this typically is the fpdb directory.
